Anand beats Carlsen
In a round 3 match of Morelia-Linares super grandmaster chess tournament, former world champion Wishvanathan Anand registered a victory over Magnus Carlsen on Monday. Now he shares the lead with Vassily Ivanchuk.at two points each after three games.
Anand outplayed Carlsen with black. In another match of round 3, Alexander Morozevich turned a dangerous position into a clear win against Aronian, but missed a key line that would have got him the full point. While Veselin Topalov and Peter Leko fought a theoretical battle that ended in a draw. Peter Svidler and Vassily Ivanchuk also ended in a draw. Fourth round shall be played on Wednesday as Tuesday is observed as rest day.
